California Dude Ranch Driving Directions

If you are inbound on Hwy 101 first target Eureka, then the 299 East to Willow Creek. Turn North on Hwy 96 through Hoopa, Weitchpec, Orleans and past Somes Bar to Siskiyou County mile post 7.6. Drive time from Eureka is 2 hours.

If you are inbound on the I-5 from the South, target Redding, then turn West on the 299 toward Wellow Creek.  Turn North on Highway 96 through Hoopa, Weitchpec, Orleans and Somes Bar.   Continue past the Salmon River (the Humboldt / Siskiyou county line) to Siskiyou Highway mile marker 7.6.   Drive time from Redding is 3.5 hours.    If you are approaching from South of Redding you may also continue North on the I-5 targeting Yreka and then turn South on the Hwy 96 for a route that is longer than using the Hwy 299 but 1.5 hours less time on windy roads.  If you choose this longer route, at Yreka you should connect with the Highway 96 and proceed South toward Happy Camp.  Continue 35 miles past Happy Camp and watch for Marble Mountain Ranch at the Siskiyou County Mile-marker 7.6.  Passing Redding and continuing to Yreka will add about 20 minutes of driving,

If you are inbound on the I-5 from Oregon or points North of Marble Mountain Ranch, target the Hwy 96 exit about 5 miles South of the Oregon border. Proceed South on the 96 to Siskiyou County mile post 7.6 Drive time from Medford is about 2.25 hours.

Finding Your Dude Ranch Vacation Without Getting Lost

We recommend that arriving guests do NOT rely on gps devices to determine travel routes through the National Forests to Marble Mountain Ranch. Straight line travel routes or “shortest routes” in the forest as determined by these devices may place you onto tertiary roads that may be seasonally closed, or otherwise inappropriate for your travel. Please review our suggestions above, and stay on primary travel routes during your drive through unfamiliar terrain.

Airport Suggestions For Planning Guest Ranch Travel Itineraries

For our guests who prefer to fly in, the nearest airport is a two-hour drive from the ranch. We suggest either the California Arcata/Mckinleyville airport (ACV) or the Medford Oregon airport ( iata code MFR, and icao code KMFR).  Some of our guests are reducing air-fare by flying to San Francisco California or Grants Pass Oregon and building a Pacific Coast driving vacation onto their Guest Ranch stay. We are happy to suggest interesting vacation targets for those doing the scenic drive
